Joey recently worked as an Associated Producer at Vox’s Explained series on Netflix, a show that journalistically explains a wide range of topics from the rise of hurricanes, to the chess.

Joey’s decade in entertainment includes producing 25 original segments on HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. His work there helped to earn the production 3 Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series and a Peabody Award which honors the most powerful, enlightening, and invigorating stories in television, radio, and online media. 

Before working with John Oliver, Joey worked with Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report. In addition to late night comedy programs, Joey also worked on Ice-T and Coco’s daytime talk show Ice and Coco, and NBC’s The Sound Of Music Live!.

In addition to TV, he has been a producer The Scranton Shakespeare Festival, a non-profit theater festival that gives free professional theater to the public. In 2020 he wrote and produced Season Nine, a podcast that takes a rare look into the story of the Scranton Shakespeare Festival, from our founding moments in 2010 to the dreams and challenges of how we adapted a theatrical season to keep folks entertained during the global pandemic.

He has produced 36 theatrical productions at various levels including shows for Fringe festivals, limited New York City runs, and shows in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. 

Joey has worked extensively in live events. He was the Special Events Coordinator and Operations Executive for the National Lacrosse League, planning, coordinating, and executing the League’s Entry Draft and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies.

Joey’s interest in storytelling began early in life and reinforced by his degrees in philosophy and English literature.
